
Summer Camp:
Teaching Assistant
Trim Tab is looking for teaching assistants and classroom support staff who want to help students feel welcome, supported, and ready to try new things. This role is a strong fit for someone who enjoys working with youth, can support instructors during hands-on activities, and brings reliability, patience, and positive energy to a busy learning environment.
Role Details
Dates: July 20–30, 2026 (some training and setup required leading up to camp)
Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 8am-4pm
Location: Juan Diego High School - (300 E. 11800 S, Draper)
Compensation / Role Type: Fixed project-based role, $1,300.00 for the full assignment

Responsibilities & Requirements
In this role, you will be expected to:

Support instructors during hands-on STEM learning activities.

Help students understand instructions, stay engaged, and participate in classroom activities.

Assist with materials, setup, cleanup, transitions, and daily classroom flow.

Provide small-group or individual student support as needed.

Support the full camp experience beyond the classroom, including helping with lunch setup, common-area cleanup, charging and organizing electronics, preparing materials, and other daily camp needs.

Help create a fun, focused, respectful, and confidence-building learning environment.

Work cooperatively with instructors, mentors, program leadership, and other support staff.

Attend required training and preparation before camp begins.

Be available for the full camp schedule and any required preparation or wrap-up responsibilities.

Communicate clearly, follow directions, take initiative when appropriate, and follow through reliably.

Complete any required onboarding, screening, training, or other requirements before working with students.
Strong Fit / Preferred Experience
This role may be a strong fit if you have experience with:

Teaching, facilitation, coaching, mentoring, or youth programs.

Working with middle-school students or other youth.

Mentoring, coaching, tutoring, assisting instruction, or supporting group activities.

Helping students stay focused, encouraged, and engaged.

Supporting hands-on learning environments, classroom activities, camps, workshops, or youth programs.

STEM, coding, robotics, AI, 3D design, drones, VR/AR, design thinking, entrepreneurship, or related areas.

Supporting classroom logistics, materials, schedules, transitions, or group activities.
Relevant experience may come from paid work, volunteering, school, community programs, coaching, mentoring, personal projects, or other hands-on experience.
