Describe one specific time you supported children, middle-school students, younger students, or a youth program. Include the age range, setting, group size, and what you were responsible for.

This role helps in classrooms, with setup, cleanup, lunches, transitions, small-group support, charging devices, organizing materials, and noticing what needs to be done before being asked. Which parts fit you well, which ones might be new or challenging?

Give a specific example of a time outside of direct instruction, class time, or the main activity where you noticed something needed to be done and handled it without being asked. What did you notice and what did you do?

A student is stuck & falling behind during an activity. They say, “I’m stupid" and push the tech away, & distract neighbors . Do you inform the instructor or address yourself? Give specifics on what you would do and why.

One student repeatedly leaves their seat, grabs supplies, interrupts others, and misses instructions. The instructor keeps teaching. As the TA, what would you do to support the student and the room without undermining the instructor?

Two students in a small group are arguing. One says the other is “taking over,” and the other says, “They never do anything.” The group is stuck and getting louder. What would you do as the TA?

A great TA is not just an extra person in the room. During a busy hands-on activity, what should a TA be watching for besides whether students are completing the assignment?
