Salisha Allard-Blaisdell, Ph.D

Salisha Allard-Blaisdell brings experience in nonprofit leadership, community development, education, and organizational leadership to Trim Tab. She is the founder and executive director of the Shara Foundation and has worked with community organizations, youth, and families in both the United States and Grenada. Her professional and academic work has focused on leadership, community engagement, organizational development, and creating stronger systems of support for people and communities. She holds a bachelor’s degree from BYU-Hawaii and a Master of Public Administration from Rutgers University and has continued advanced study in applied and organizational leadership.

Salisha brings to Trim Tab a perspective shaped by both direct community work and the organizational systems that make that work possible. Her experience in nonprofit development, grant writing, program strategy, and community-based initiatives helps the Board think not only about what Trim Tab hopes to accomplish, but also about how to build the partnerships, resources, and organizational foundation needed to sustain that work. She is particularly interested in creating opportunities that recognize the strengths young people already possess while expanding their access to people, experiences, and possibilities.

Her work has taken her across cultures, institutions, and communities, giving her a broad view of the different circumstances that shape opportunity. That perspective helps Trim Tab remain attentive to who has access, whose voices are included, and how programs can be designed to meet young people where they are while still challenging them to grow.
