Brian Acord

Brian Acord brings decades of experience in entrepreneurship, technology, education, and organizational leadership to Trim Tab. His career has included serving on the pre-opening team for Disney’s Animal Kingdom and launching startups and new ventures including a frontrunner, NLP / AI-based Attensity (2000), Young Entrepreneurs of America (2003), and Amenity, an exclusive travel club for United Airlines. He has consulted with dozens of organizations and worked with hundreds of entrepreneurs and startups through his teaching, mentoring, and program leadership at the University of Utah, BYU, and The Mill at Salt Lake Community College, including Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses. Mr. Acord is currently CEO of Acord.AI where he helps organizations and leaders move beyond experimenting with AI to using it strategically through practical training, consulting, workflow design, and implementation.
As the founder of Trim Tab, Brian brings those experiences in entrepreneurship, education, innovation, and organizational development together around a simple idea: young people benefit from meaningful access to ideas, tools, people, and experiences that help them better understand what they are capable of and where they might go next. Trim Tab grew from his belief that relatively small interventions, made at the right time, can have an outsized effect on a young person’s trajectory.
Brian’s work has also extended deeply into the community, including working with refugees, people who have experienced long-term homelessness, dozens of culturally focused chambers and community organizations, and teaches Entrepreneurship at the Utah State Prison. Those experiences have highlighted the importance of how access to relationships, resources, and opportunity can shape what people are able to build for themselves and their communities. He has served over twenty years as a coach, player, and referee for USA Hockey and USA Lacrosse, and you can find him at most Utah Mammoth home games where he currently works for the NHL as an off-ice official. - LinkedIn Bio
